Troncones, Mexico -Day one (Sat, Sept 2, 2006)
The plane ride was relatively uneventful. we flew first class on Alaska. It wasn't too exciting, but worth the miles. They gave us actual food and the drinks were good!
We arrived at Casa De La Sirena at around six thirty after a pleasant ($70) taxi ride from the airport. The taxi drivers are friendly here and this one knoew some english. Everyone was already here and settled in their rooms. They had even done the shopping in Ixtapa!
The crew (Ryan and Tyana, Jenni and Marko, Mark and Erin and Nicole) had been kind enough to save us the top floor of the villa. Choice digs! It looks right over the ocean and the pool and the fridge full of beer and food is always nearby.
A cold beer, some unpacking and off to dinner! We ate at Costa Brava -mid-priced and O.K. food. This would turn out to be our least favorite meal of the trip. Beers were a dollar fifty and I must have had five.
We walked home and drank for a few hours while catching up and swimming in the pool. Then off to bed. It had been a big day of travel for all of us.

So, I got the food all wrong... Marko cooled for us this night. Then we ate at caracoles or costa brava on Mon night. so they're all a day off. either way... the food is good at cafe sol and huachinangos and burro baracho and manzanillo bay... others were good, but not great.
