Not about Burning man...
I know that my BM/house boating blog post is L8. Three reasons: 1) It's gonna b long. 2) I'm lazy 3) I've already talked to too many people about it and am kinda over it. Basically... Call me and I'll give you the short version. or search my name on flicker to see the pics. or whatever.
so this last weekend...

Saturday
Jackie made us breakfast at Annie and my place (delicious veggie juevos rancheros), then the six of us (Annie, Jackie and Yen in the super Civic Hybrid and Kirsten, Lindsay and I in the Saabaru) drove up to Ainsworth Hot Springs via the ferry . We left around ten and caught the 1400 ferry after eating a passable lunch at some roadside stand where this kid was making incredible Bionicles.
We had fun hanging out at the hot springs for a few hours (it cost C$8), soaking up the wellness and meeting some pretty funny construction dudes. It took all of about thirty minutes for the male:female ratio to go from 1:5 to 5:5...
Then... off to Nelson (about an hour) via the liquor store
We checked into the Hume Hotel. (funky but totally cool!) around 6, napped/watched TV/drank for a few hours, then ate dinner in the hotel around nine. The food was passable at dinner, but tasted great at five when we got home!
After dinner we put on our party pants in the hotel room, then headed to the pub in the hotel (very convenient!). It was packed with some pretty lively looking people, but Annie's friend from Shambhala (the manager) was eating dinner and didn't look like he wanted to be bothered. So... we went to the club (in the hotel). It was kinda dead. Half of us stayed and half went back to the pub (myself included) for a few hours. We drank some drinks and had some good conversation until the music stopped and we realized we were the only people there! Lindsay and Kirsten went to bed and I went back to the club with the other three girls...
Heavy drinking, silly behavior and poor decision making landed us deep in the woods courtesy of a very drunk driver... We were at an impromtu after party... You've been there... you know how the rest goes...
We got back to the hotel after five. But, alas, our new friends were not allowed in! Old hotel employee lady quote of the day: "If I let just these nice people in, they will go to their room and go to sleep. If I let you boys in you all will be noisy and obnoxious and wake everyone up." We were noisy and obnoxious without them, BTW!
530a: We watched TV and ate the aforementioned leftovers...
7A: Tried to sleep (failed)
0830a: Ate hotel breakfast (two bites) and drank coffee (two cups)
Ran around town (most was closed on sunday)
1030: went home -via the selkirk loop through Washington ). One of the longest, most tedious rides I've been on (luckily, the company was good)!
We pretty much killed it!

I think the trip was more fun than you made it sound. But I may be biased.
It WAS pretty damn fun!
